***The following is a courtesy post to help one of our volunteers place two dogs rescued from a dog meat farm in S. Korea. The rescue was facilitated by Humane Society International, and our volunteer took these two to put some much-needed weight on them and get them ready for adoption!***
I'd like to introduce you all to Axel and Rima. These sweet, beautiful Mastiff crosses were rescued from a dog meat farm dubbed 'Farm 9' in Seoul, South Korea at the end of summer. They were rescued with over 100 other dogs on the farm, living in elevated rabbit hutches and eating leftover food fished out of area dumpsters by the 'farmer' who was raising them to be sent to slaughter.
The first thing I would like to say about these guys is that they both have the most trusting and beautiful spirits and are shockingly well-adjusted considering the lives they led before rescue. They are a true testament to the resiliency and wonder of dogs. They are so sweet and aaalways happy! They both like other dogs and are very sweet with my mom's horses. They love attention and getting loved on...it does take Axel a few minutes to make sure you're not gonna kill him before he gives you full-on lovin'.
These guys are now available for foster or adoption, but with a few things to keep in mind...breed/size equivalent is preferred and these are dogs that have gone through a lot. They need homes with people who are going to be understanding of the fact that they are going to need to be patient. There are bound to be obstacles, but these dogs are going to make amazing companions for someone. They have so much love to give. But the road might be a little bumpy while they adjust to the good life; they've never had it before.

They are up to date on shots, spayed and neutered, microchipped and heartworm tested.
Our adoption fee is $200.00 and it helps to cover a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview.
